Frequently asked questions
What is Sundial Tools?
Sundial Tools makes small, focused calculators that answer one question well: what should you charge? Each calculator lives on its own site — CakePrice for cake makers, BatchCost for soap and candle makers, and QuoteMate for solo tradespeople — and runs entirely in your browser.
Do I need to create an account?
No. Every calculator works immediately with no signup and no login. If you choose to unlock the paid tier of a tool, you'll get a license key by email — there's still no account to manage.
Where is my data stored?
In your browser's local storage, on your own device. Numbers you type into a calculator are not sent to a server or seen by anyone else. Clearing your browser data will clear whatever you saved, so export or note down anything important.
Are the calculators really free?
Yes. The core pricing calculation in every tool is free with no limits on how many times you use it. Each tool also has an optional one-time paid unlock for extras like unlimited saved items or watermark-free quotes — pricing is shown on each tool's page.
Which calculator should I use?
Use CakePrice if you bake and sell cakes or cupcakes, BatchCost if you make and sell soap or candles, and QuoteMate if you do trade or contracting work and need to send a customer a written quote. All three follow the same underlying idea: cost your materials and time properly, then price with a clear margin on top.
